Changing Landscape of Associations

We have been talking a lot lately at IntrinXec and with our clients about the changing landscape of associations. No longer are associations needed for the same reason they were formed 50 or 100 years ago. In the days that there was no internet, the only way people could really connect and engage with others was by joining a local association and going to events to network, talk, and obtain valuable education and resources. Now, people can access any information they want, build relationships through various online communities, and in a format that is free and easily accessible. They don’t have to pay dues. They don’t have to show up at an event to obtain the information. And while online communities will never replace the value of face-to-face meetings, it still remains a fundamental paradigm shift that associations cannot ignore.
